Cold BehaviourCold Behaviour measurement - pour point, cold point, freeze point and cold filter plugging point - are used to determine the flow characteristics of petroleum at low temperatures. These measurements basically define the lowest temperature that the product can be used in the intended application. - Pour point is the temperature at which a petroleum product will no longer flow.
- Cloud point is the temperature at which the formation of wax crystals begins to affect the product's flow characteristics, particularly through small orifices and filters.
- Freezing point is a measurement of the lowest temperature at which an aviation fuel will remain free of solid hydrocarbon crystals that could restrict the flow of fuel through filters.
- Cold filter plugging point measures the filterability of diesel fuels
