Antek TQAC02 Total CO2 Quality Assurance

Meet specs using one analyzer package. ANTEK Industrial offers the only turn-key system for quality assurance of CO2. The TQACO2 is a complete analyzer package with a single operating data system. Gas suppliers and bulk CO2 users can now generate their own load report to show compliance with your specifications.
 

Contamination in your carbon dioxide can come from many sources. Possibly your supplier has produced product from multiple batches. Different suppliers can produce varied quality products, some of which contain sulfur and some that do not. The transporter may load from different batches or supplies and consequently contaminate your lines when unloading to you. Even if your supply has been constant for years, the chances are increasing that your supplier will ultimately provide you with a bad load, often through no fault of their own.

 

SAMPLE HANDLING
The sample preparation system is designed to extract a representative sample from delivery or receiving piping. The sample is pressure regulated and vaporized prior to introduction into the analyzers. Analysis is performed by continuous flow through the analyzers, with the exception of the Aromatic Hydrocarbon Analyzer (benzene analysis), which samples discretely via injection valve. Control of flow is regulated at each analyzer independently.

 

PC-CONTROL & DATA ACQUISITION
An optional sophisticated PC control and data acquisition system is offered for use with ANTEK's TQACO2 analyzers. The system software's easy to use graphical interface allows users to perform all operations by the click of a mouse. Seven channels are available for analog analyzer signals each scanned at 100 Hz, averaged to 10 Hz each, with calibration capability for each channel. Analog outputs are included to send an analyzer measurement signal to a strip chart recorder or SCADA.

SULFUR in carbon dioxide can kill catalysts in some processes and can ruin product in the beverage bottling industry. In the bottling industry the traditional test for sulfur has been a simple "sniff test" or a "tape test." In most cases this has been sufficient to reject a bad lot of carbon dioxide. In recent years, however, more and more beverage products have been pulled from consumer shelves due to sulfur contamination in carbon dioxide. COS and other sulfur species are missed by "tape tests" as they are often specific for only certain sulfur compounds. Millions of dollars worth of beverages have been pulled as a result of this contamination, not to mention local consumer loyalty losses when such events have occurred. Ultimately, responsibility for these events often falls on the shoulders of the carbon dioxide supplier or distributor.

Total sulfur analysis is based on clean, safe Pyro-fluorescence™ using the ANTEK Model R 6000 S Model Analyzer. Utilizing matrix independent UV-Fluorescence detection, the R 6000 S provides continuous analysis with a response time of 45 seconds. Standard output is 0–10 VDC and 4–20 mA.

OXYGEN has been implicated in carbon dioxide contamination. Careful monitoring for oxygen in CO2 streams provides manufacturers the assurance of delivering high quality goods to end users.

The analyzer utilizes an electrochemical sensor to ensure an extremely accurate and fast analysis of oxygen levels in the gas stream. The oxygen specific sensor has a linear output from a true zero through 100% oxygen, and can be calibrated on span gases at any concentration within a specified range or on ambient air. The sensor design does not require zero gases. Accuracy over a wide range of temperatures is achieved with a unique cell block design and electronics which provide continuous temperature compensation between 0–50ºC.

The moisture analyzer utilizes the electrolytic process to produce an accurate and absolute measure of moisture in a gas stream. The process is continuous; that is, moisture is continually absorbed from the gas stream, and oxygen and hydrogen are continually evolved.
